Cooper This Year's Best Rookie Friday, November 8th , 2019
Last spring Kevin Cooper was happy to just make the Pilots roster. He was overjoyed to see the name "Cooper" on the lineup card, too. Now the 24-year-old Atlanta center fielder has capped off his debut season by winning the coveted Professional Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Year Award.
Cooper won the award by hitting .306 and collecting 95 hits, 22 home runs, 59 RBIs and 16 walks, along with 49 runs scored and a .338 on-base percentage.
He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 18. Geoff Becker of the Detroit Motors finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Shaun Dunham of the El Paso Diablos finished third with 3 first place votes.
