Ben Barger Says Farewell to Baseball Tuesday, October 22nd , 2019 It's a somber day for Warriors fans as Ben Barger announced that he will retire at the end of the 2019 season. The Washington starting pitcher attributed his retirement to his age and loss of skills. "I'm not the type of player I want to be anymore," he said. "It's harder go out there and be competitive. I'm not at the end of my rope yet, but I've seen guys hang around too long. I'm not going to be one of them." In his career, Barger has racked up 148 wins and 103 losses and posted an ERA of 3.76. |
