Diablos Advance to Pro Circuit Cup Thursday, October 17th , 2019 The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Inferno Field as the Cup Qualifier stretched to the final game. It was the El Paso Diablos feeling the thrill of victory, with a 5-4 win over the Las Vegas Aces, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Pro Circuit Cup. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Las Vegas manager Casey Lyman. "Congratulations to El Paso, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was first baseman Aaron Shelby, who was named MVP. He hit .385 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.
