Canales Dominates Boston Friday, September 27th , 2019 The Boston Shamrocks were almost helpless in their 3-0 loss to the New York City Blues and hurler Leo Canales. Canales kept the Shamrocks confused all game, spinning a 8-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Canales," Boston manager Wally Christensen said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 28-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 12 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Canales said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." Looking at his season stats, Canales has won 3 and lost 5, collecting 108 strikeouts and 26 walks in 104.2 innings with a 3.53 ERA.
