Blues Suffer 9-4 Loss to Detroit
The Detroit Motors besoiled an otherwise fine performance by New York City catcher Josh Leavens by beating the Blues, 9-4, at The Motor Yard. Leavens went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Nyyrikki Haapajarvi got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Blues to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 4. The Motors, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 2019.

Casey Ingalls had a big grand slam home run for the Motors in the bottom of the third inning. With Detroit trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Ben Russell and swatted a home run to center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Motors ahead, 4-1.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Ingalls said in reaction to the win.
