Phillips Hammers 2 Homers in 10-9 Win
|
The Toronto Titans did just enough to sneak past the Washington Warriors, 10-9, at Warriors Park. Toronto third baseman Chris Phillips, in particular, had a standout performance. The win puts Toronto at 6-4.
Phillips contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Toronto in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 9-8, Phillips took a curveball from Scott Roland and stroked the home run to left-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Titans to leap in front, 10-9.
"We found a way to get it done," Phillips said.
