Southern California Comes up Empty Against Garrett
|
Jesse Garrett kept the Southern California Empires hitters from doing much damage at Empires Stadium.
Southern California could only muster 3 hits and draw 2 walks against the left-handed Garrett, who controlled them throughout the game. Calgary won the contest, 3-0. Garrett added 8 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Garrett told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
To date this season, Garrett sports a 8-5 mark with a 3.69 ERA in 21 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .218 batting average and has 142 strikeouts in 139 innings.
