Late Rally by Titans Secures 4-2 Win
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Toronto Titans and Atlanta Pilots came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Toronto Titans beat the Atlanta Pilots, 4-2. Toronto pitcher and Hockessin, Delaware, native Ron Clous led the way. Toronto reliever Quincy Brooks was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Junro Yano.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Jon Dozier to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Titans on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Clous. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
The third-place Titans now have a record of 46-39.
