Blues Get Clonked by Warriors, 6-3
|
The Washington Warriors defeated the New York City Blues, 6-3, at Warriors Park. Washington was led by 2009 Rookie of the Year Award winner Pat Daniel, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Washington, at 22-36, holds down 8th place in the PBC East Division.
Washington catcher Jose Jacquez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 45th hit of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 4-2.
"It's good to win," Daniel told the Washington Herald. "I like to have fun doing it."
