Though he had a stellar game, Huibert Zwiers could not prevent his team, the Detroit Motors, from losing, 7-5, to the Boston Shamrocks. Zwiers was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Boston reliever Dave Slaughter picked up the win, raising his record to 6-3. Fernando Palomino was tagged with the loss. Ethan Evans earned save number 3 this season.

Boston used the timely hitting of Chase Craig to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shamrocks on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can never predict what'll happen," Craig said. "That's why you play the game."

The Shamrocks, at 38-40, inhabit 5th place in the PBC East Division.
