Shamrocks Drop Contest, 6-4, to Denver

The 6-4 Denver win over Boston was due largely to Felipe Rodriguez. The Cutthroats left fielder was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. Kyle Fox was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. The Cutthroats bumped their record to 26-24 with this win.
Denver used a clutch at-bat from Jonathan Swift to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cutthroats ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Swift told the Denver Today.
