St. Louis Gets 5-3 Win Versus Dallas in 11
|
The St. Louis Lions clipped the Dallas Texans, 5-3, in 11 innings at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to St. Louis pitcher and Virginia Beach, Virginia, native Kevin Schuerger. Luke Dickerson snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. St. Louis is looking good at 52-25.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of Tom Abraham to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Lions on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Schuerger. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
