Tampa Bay Squanders Great Game by Hendriks
Despite a great performance by Tampa Bay designated hitter George Hendriks, the Boston Shamrocks defeated the Thunder by the score of 8-7 at The Thunder Bowl. Hendriks was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The win went to Loys Blaesvelt in relief, making him now 3-3. Joe Webb took the loss for Tampa Bay. Akihisa Shibuya closed the door for Boston, picking up his 10th save of the year.

Nick Kiser delivered a big hit for Boston. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shamrocks ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Boston manager Wally Christensen.

The setback makes Tampa Bay 37-35.
