The Tampa Bay Thunder beat the Boston Shamrocks by a score of 11-4. Tampa Bay third baseman Gil Lazo deserved the lion's share of the credit. Lazo went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Thunder. Tampa Bay pitcher Ramiro Collado got the win, upping his record to 4-4. Shigeru Morita got the loss. The slumping Shamrocks have lost 6 straight.

The Thunder got a big hit from catcher Justin McElveen. Facing Boston pitcher Chris Allen in the bottom of the fifth, McElveen pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 7th home run of the season put the Thunder ahead, 9-0.

"Solid performance from our side," said Thunder manager Ray McKay.
