The New York City Blues picked up a win at Blues Field, knocking off the Dallas Texans, 3-2. Starting pitcher Leo Canales was a big reason why. Anthony Anderson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The defeat makes Dallas 19-30.

The decisive blow was delivered by Sam Abel in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Brad Dunn to win the game for New York City. The home crowd went nuts.

Said losing manager Jesus Sanchez: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
