The New York City Blues knocked off the Detroit Motors, 9-5, at Blues Field. James Nilsson was a big reason New York City won. The right fielder was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win makes New York City 22-41, nothing to write home about.

Sam Abel had a big 3-run home run for the Blues in the bottom of the second inning. With New York City leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Josh Van Leuven and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blues ahead, 5-0.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said New York City manager Team Caretaker.
