Abel Smith Sidelined for Season Monday, September 17th , 2018 The Atlanta Pilots were dealt a severe blow when Abel Smith was hurt throwing the ball recently in a game against the Boston Shamrocks. After the game, the team trainer reported Smith might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 25-year-old shortstop out for the rest of the season with a hamstring strain. They indicated it would take Smith at least 5-6 weeks to heal. To date, Smith has collected 85 hits for a .281 average. He has posted 5 home runs, scored 57 runs and driven in 26 runs. |
