San Francisco Wins Play-in Series Saturday, October 6th , 2018 The Play-in Series didn't live up to the billing from those who thought it would be an all-out battle to the last game. But the San Francisco Peanuts are no doubt pleased by the results, as they have knocked out the Detroit Motors 3-1 to advance to the Cup Qualifier. "It doesn't matter how you win it, as long as you win it and get yourself moving forward," said Peanuts right fielder Travis McCombs. "I know a lot of people thought this was going to be a really tight series the whole way through, but we're glad it didn't go right down to the wire." San Francisco won the final game by a score of 7-4 at Garibaldi's Grounds. McCombs was named series MVP after hitting .400 with a .444 on-base percentage.
