Cote Belts Bunch of Base Hits Sunday, September 30th , 2018 Joe Cote was smoking all game at the plate, but couldn't finish his day with a victory cigar. After the 32-year-old Detroit Motors right fielder tallied 5 hits in 5 at-bats, he was forced to watch as his club dropped the 12-11 decision to the Atlanta Pilots. "That was no fun," Cote said to reporters after the game. "You hate to lose any game but it's even worse somehow to feel like you did enough to win." Joe Cote hit a two-run home run off Dave Hodges in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dave Hodges in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
