Peanuts Hammered by Shelby, Drop Game 3 to Diablos
The El Paso Diablos have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading San Francisco Peanuts, winning, 6-5, at Garibaldi's Grounds. Diablos first baseman Aaron Shelby went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Diablos to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Cup Qualifier.

Had Shelby not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Shelby hit a run-scoring double. The Diablos took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.

After the game, El Paso manager Joe Peters applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Garibaldi's Grounds in San Francisco.
