Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Boston Shamrocks and New York City Blues.

New York City designated hitter Rod James was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Boston beat the Blues, 4-3. Jeremy Stewart picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-6. Oscar Torres got the save, the 2nd for him this season.

Adam Sipos had a direct impact on the outcome. Sipos contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 1-0.

Said losing manager Jay Bourne: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."

Yes, it was a win for Boston; but their 28-56 mark is nothing to crow about.
