Thunder Dump New York City, 3-2, to Win 5th in a Row

The Tampa Bay Thunder racked up a win at The Thunder Bowl, bumping off the New York City Blues, 3-2. David Stewart, who started for Tampa Bay, pitched effectively for his team. Akihisa Shibuya was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 15 save opportunities. The 5th-place Thunder have won 5 straight.
Mike Brittian, who signed a 5-year contract worth $3,700,000 on 12/03/2017, took New York City hurler John Hunter deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Thunder on top, 3-2. In all, Brittian had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Brittian said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
