Peanuts Post 6-3 Win Over Houston
Spirited fans greeted the Houston Mavericks for their clash with the San Francisco Peanuts.

Though he had a terrific game, Matt D'Agastino could not prevent his team, the Houston Mavericks, from absorbing a loss. San Francisco won the game, 6-3. D'Agastino was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cortez Crus, who finished 3rd in the PBC in wins with 13 last year, was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 11 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts.

The Peanuts got a big at-bat from left fielder Francisco Carpio. For the game, Carpio went 3 for 4 with 3 doubles. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.

"Not the sexiest win," said Peanuts manager Chris Graham, "but I'll take it."

The win elevated the Peanuts to 41-26.
