Titans Get One-Run Win at Houston
The Toronto Titans, behind a great outing from Jurg van Gelderen, who finished 3rd in the PBC in strikeouts with 173 in 2016, defeated the Houston Mavericks, 2-1, at Mavericks Ballpark. The slumping Mavericks have dropped 7 in a row.

Toronto used the timely hitting of Bob Ortega to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Titans on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Come up with some new questions," snapped losing manager Kevin Read to reporters, "and I'll come up with some new answers."
