The El Paso Diablos romped over the New York City Blues, 11-1, at Inferno Field. Elijah Epps led the way. He went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 6 for El Paso. The Blues had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Diablos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Eddie Martinez came to the plate. Martinez hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 knuckle curve from New York City hurler Leo Canales. It was Martinez's 5th double of the year.

Martinez told a El Paso Daily reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
