Meyer Rips 2 Home Runs in 12-4 Diablos Triumph
The El Paso Diablos welcomed the Houston Mavericks to an afternoon game at Inferno Field.

The El Paso Diablos beat the Houston Mavericks, 12-4, at Inferno Field. El Paso third baseman Dan Meyer led the way. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Bernie Loyola was the winner. He's now 4-0. The loser was former first round draft pick Steve Yates.

Meyer contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for El Paso in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Meyer took a cutter from Steve Yates and stroked the home run to left-center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Diablos to leap in front, 2-1.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Meyer told the El Paso Daily.

El Paso is now 24-11.
