Nunez reaches base 3 times, Ignites Houston Offense
The Houston Mavericks thumped the Washington Warriors, 8-1, at Mavericks Ballpark. Jorge Nunez was a big reason his team got the win. Nunez went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Luke Whalen, who led the PBC in innings pitched with 172.2 in 2015, was the winning pitcher. With Houston leading 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Nunez came up to bat against Washington pitcher Yin-tou Huang. Nunez hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Mavericks on top, 8-1.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Nunez told the Houston Times.
