The Los Angeles Knights topped the Houston Mavericks by a score of 6-5. Leading the way was catcher Yao-pang Ching. Ching went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for the Knights. Buddy Hofman, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Jason Vetor sewed up the save, his 1st.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Ching delivered big-time for Los Angeles, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Matthew Browning. The game-changing hit put the Knights on top, 6-5.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Ching told the Los Angeles Citizen.
Los Angeles, with the win, sits at 7-16.
