Luallen Hits 2 home runs in Warriors Win
Bob Luallen knocked in 3 runs to help Washington beat New York City, 9-8. Luallen produced 1 single and 2 home runs. Ron Clous got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. The Warriors, at 10-11, inhabit 5th place in the PBC East Division.

Mel Lagunas had a big 2-run home run for the Warriors in the bottom of the third inning. With Washington trailing 5-4 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Leo Canales and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Warriors ahead, 6-5.

"I don't care about style points," Lagunas said. "I only care about winning."
