The St. Louis Lions knocked off the Los Angeles Knights, 4-2, in Professional Baseball Circuit action at The Lions Hearth. St. Louis pitcher and Kalamazoo, Michigan, native Ryan Williams had an outstanding performance. In 8.1 innings, Williams surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The win boosted St. Louis to 14-4.
St. Louis designated hitter Howie Park contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Lions ahead, 2-0.
"Every time I step on the mound, I want to go out there and compete and bring my best game," said Williams.
