Keating Best Rookie in 2017 Tuesday, October 31st , 2017 For several weeks the rumor mill had it that the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award winner was a foregone conclusion and the trophy would go to Green Bay right fielder, Alex Keating. It is no longer a rumor -- the Western Semi-Pro Circuit made it official today. Keating won the award by hitting .301 and collecting 116 hits, 20 home runs, 66 RBIs and 27 walks. He scored 54 runs and posted a .353 on-base percentage. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dustin Lingerfelt of the Vancouver Grizzlies finished second in voting, while Alex Salinas of the Mexico City Aztecas finished third.
