New York's Jakubowicz Gets ESPC Rookie of the Year Award Tuesday, October 31st , 2017 The top-ranked rookie performer in the Eastern Semi-Pro Circuit was New York first baseman Ron Jakubowicz. It was announced today by league officials that he had been named the winner of the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award. Jakubowicz chalked up some good season stats, including a .339 batting average and .395 on-base percentage, while racking up 24 home runs, 80 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Tim Kehl of the Sherbrooke Canadians finished second in voting, while Daniel Belisle of the Sherbrooke Canadians finished third.
