Gradillas Grabs ESPC Reliever of the Year Award Sunday, October 29th , 2017 The Reliever of the Year Award goes to the Eastern Semi-Pro Circuit reliever who put forward the strongest season. This season, that player was Mattia Gradillas of the Allentown Fleetwings, who was above all his peers in 2017. "I just feel like the ball was doing what I wanted it to this year and I was in command most nights out there," he said. "Some days you don't have your best stuff, but I didn't have too many of those days this year." On the season, Gradillas pitched 96 innings, with 91 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.00. He also had 17 saves in 62 relief appearances. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Brent Farwell of the Sherbrooke Canadians finished second in voting, while Zach Holmes of the Ottawa Capitals finished third.
