Injury Forces Craig Schmidt Out
Wednesday, October 11th , 2017
The Motors received bad news this morning. Craig Schmidt will miss 12 months due to a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He sustained the injury in the Detroit-Atlanta game while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Schmidt sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."

This year, Schmidt has chalked up 26 relief appearances, worked 49.1 innings, struck out 60 and issued 9 walks. He has 4 saves with a 2.74 ERA and a 4-0 won-lost mark.
