Play-in Series Game 1 Victory for Mackowski and Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Aces started the Play-in Series in style, downing the visiting St. Louis Lions at Caesers Palace Colosseum by a score of 5-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Aces right-hander Ron Mackowski threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs.

With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, Danny Sanchez put Las Vegas in front, 3-2, with a run-scoring single. The Aces went on to win the ballgame.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Sanchez said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Caesers Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas.
