With 5-3 Win, Diablos Improve to 55-25
|
The first-place El Paso Diablos picked up another win.
The El Paso Diablos knocked off the Houston Mavericks, 5-3, in Professional Baseball Circuit action at Inferno Field. El Paso pitcher and Bayonne, New Jersey, native Kyle Haley had an outstanding performance. The winner was Haley. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Bill Price. Won-keun Baek got the save, his 13th in 18 chances.
Bob Pfeiffer, who finished 4th in the PBC in home runs with 21 last year, came through for El Paso with a 2-run double in the bottom of the eighth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
"Kyle's good, period," said El Paso manager Joe Peters.
El Paso is now 55-25, 3 games up in the PBC West Division.
