Pilots Make It 5 In a Row with 7-4 Triumph Over Los Angeles
The Atlanta Pilots defeated the Los Angeles Knights by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Abel Smith. Smith went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs for the Pilots on the day. Alex Perez picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-2. He struck out 8 in 6.2 innings. Mike Green recorded the save, his 5th.

Dashawn MacDonald had a big 2-run double for the Pilots in the bottom of the third inning. With Atlanta leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Josh Massey and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pilots ahead, 3-0.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said MacDonald. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."

Atlanta now has a record of 42-17 with the win.
