Aces Edge Union, 2-1
|
The Las Vegas Aces, behind a great outing from Jay Williams, who led the in ERA with 2.52 in 2006, defeated the Chicago Union, 2-1, at Caesers Palace Colosseum. Williams picked up the win for Las Vegas, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3. Chicago has now lost 7 in a row.
The Aces benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the first. With Danny Sanchez at bat and Las Vegas leading 1-0, the Chicago miscue allowed Las Vegas to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Ron Chiu. "But it's got to translate into wins."
