Denver starter Jurg van Gelderen pitched well against the Houston Mavericks at Cutter's Cove. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. After today's action, Denver sits at 32-33; Houston slips to 29-36.

Edwin Gutierrez was the walk-off hero for Denver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cutthroats second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Jurg commanded the zone from bottom to top," said Denver manager Keven Berman.
