Texans Solve New York City in Extra Innings
The Dallas Texans and New York City Blues fought to the finish at Blues Field.

The Dallas Texans needed 10 innings to defeat the New York City Blues, 7-5, at Blues Field. Dallas center fielder Bill McGaughey had a superb performance. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dave Swaney picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Mike Sunshine suffered the loss.

McGaughey had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a full count fastball from Mike Sunshine, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Texans a 7-5 lead. It was the 10th double of the year for McGaughey.

"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Dallas manager Jesus Sanchez.

The victory puts Dallas at 23-40.
