The Thunder grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Thunder Bowl, overcoming a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Brian Phillips. Phillips went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Ismael Villafan, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 12 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 4-6. Akihisa Shibuya was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 9 save opportunities.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Bryce Brace had a game-changing hit. The Thunder designated hitter slammed a 2-run single off Brian Phillips, making the score 4-1, Tampa Bay.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Brace, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

With the win, the Thunder improved to 29-34.
