After his 5-hit effort at Canadians Park was tarnished by Sherbrooke's 15-9 loss to the Ottawa Capitals, center fielder Daniel Belisle told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 26-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Capitals.

"His swing is getting there," said Canadians skipper Steve Turnbull after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Daniel did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Daniel Belisle hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

In his 2017 season totals, Belisle has 7 home runs, .275 BA, .315 OBP, 38 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
