|
Las Vegas starter Ron Mackowski put the Atlanta offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his curveball in leading the Aces to a 3-1 win. In 6.2 innings, Mackowski surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Chris Thompson, who is tied for 2nd in the PBC in saves with 12, nailed down the save.
Jose Pedroso had a direct impact on the outcome. Pedroso contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Las Vegas up, 3-1.
"Ron threw the ball very, very well," said Las Vegas manager Casey Lyman.
The win gives Las Vegas a season record of 29-15.
