Chicago beat Boston at Shamrock Grounds, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Daniel Moss. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Chicago pitcher Matt Boatright earned the win, hiking his record to 4-3. John Leew suffered the loss. The 8th-place Union have won 5 in a row.

With Chicago leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Moss hit a changeup from John Leew for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Union ahead, 5-1.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Moss told the Chicago Daily News.
