The New York City Blues had to overcome a big game from Chicago first baseman Matt LaRocco to leave Trident Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-3. LaRocco was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Picking up the win was Leo Canales. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 10 hits. The right--hander struck out 8 and walked 1. Chicago now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

New York City took a 3-1 lead on Tyler Garrett's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Garrett hit in the top of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Justin Thill visibly frustrated.

Garrett told a New York City Times reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
