The San Francisco Peanuts knocked off the Chicago Union, 10-7, in Professional Baseball Circuit action at Garibaldi's Grounds. San Francisco pitcher and Holtsville, New York, native Kevin Keeth had an outstanding performance. In 8 innings, Keeth surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Chris McCarty was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
In the bottom of the fifth, Chris Beveridge delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the San Francisco right fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Peanuts in front, 10-7.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Chicago manager Ron Chiu.
By defeating Chicago, the 5th-place Peanuts improved to 14-12.
