The Miami Sun Sox had their hands full with Boston Shamrocks starter Abebaw Kiara, who frustrated Miami hitters while leading Boston to a comfortable, 6-1 win. In 6.2 innings, Kiara surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Sun Sox, now 4-10, continue their poor start.
Boston used the hitting of Andy Ingersoll to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Shamrocks on top, 3-0. For the game, Ingersoll had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I thought we were prepared," Miami manager Barry Lolicht said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
