The Washington Warriors downed the Philadelphia Keystones, 4-1, at Warriors Park. Stellar pitching by Ron Clous had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who led the in ERA with 1.53 in 2007, handcuffed his opponent all game. Clous yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. Getting the save was Bob Vroom, his 4th.

Brandon Crosby came through for Washington when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.

"We put together a nice win," Crosby said.

The Keystones drop to 4-9, as their fitful start to the 2017 campaign continues.
