Diablos Reel Off Another Win, 7-5
|
Los Angeles got a terrific game from first baseman Jesus Guerrero. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to El Paso, 7-5. Guerrero went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Kyle Haley, the winner, goes to 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 10 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. El Paso, now 10-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Elijah Epps had a big 2-run home run for the Diablos in the bottom of the third inning. With El Paso leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Alex Ocampo and swatted a home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diablos ahead, 4-0.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Epps.
