Ottawa, Edmonton Confirm Swap Monday, December 12th , 2016 The Baseball News Network is reporting that Ottawa and Edmonton have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 19-year old minor league C Eibe van Vugt to the Drillers with 32-year old RHP Tim Wetmore and 17-year old minor league C Alberto Sifuentes joining the Capitals. Ottawa general manager Adare Thon would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league. Edmonton will retain a portion of Wetmore's remaining contract. Over his career Wetmore has accounted for 29 saves. In 70 games, he has a 6-9 won-lost mark and 125 strikeouts in 122.1 innings with a 3.24 ERA. |
